                                                        January 17, 2002

The Greenway NAC meeting was held at Beaverton Resource Center in Room 100.

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 by Jim Persey.

Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue Station 66 personnel updated the NAC on recent calls and gave out some safety tips.

Beaverton Police Officer D. Blunt and Sergeant Gary Dodson updated the NAC on crime statistics for the Greenway Area. Maps showing the locations of various crimes were passed around. There was a discussion of crime problems in the Greenway area including car break-ins and Graffiti.

Mayor Rob Drake led the NAC members on a tour of the Beaverton Resource center

Mayor Rob Drake gave an update on city activities followed by questions and answers. Topics covered included the fire at city hall, The Round, traffic concerns, the new library and Police issues.

The Greenway NAC Chair presented the latest updates on the Hall Boulevard Bike Lanes and the Hall Boulevard Westbound Center Left Turn Lane Pedestrian Island for the Fanno Creek Trail. This island will block the center left turn lane.

After some discussion it was decided the NAC would vote to appeal the decision to build the Pedestrian Island. Since the Board was short of the required ten members, the decision was made to vote on the appeal after the NAC elections.

Ten members were elected to the Board. They are: Wiley Wenger, Dee Wenger, Ramona Crocker, Robert Crocker, Joe Monihan, Moji Momeui, Ann Frainey, Cheryl McClure, Lloyd Schulze, and Jim Persey. Ramona Crocker was elected Vice-Chair. Ann Frainey was re-elected Treasurer. There were no nominations for Chair or Recorder. Jim Persey will stay on as Chair and the position of Recorder will stay open.

The NAC then passed a motion to appeal the Traffic Commission decision on TCB 471 (Median Island on SW Hall Boulevard at the Fanno Creek Trail). The vote was 7 for and 3 against. A second motion was passed to authorize the payment of the appeal fee of $250.00, if necessary.

There were no neighborhood concerns.

The CCI Committee report included information on text amendments and information on the spring cleanup.

There was no other business brought before the NAC.

The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
